Franz Ferdinand Release Two New Singles, New Video
In an interesting turn of events, Franz Ferdinand have decided to release two new singles to follow “Do You Want To”, one for release in the US and the other for release in the UK. The US gets the more upbeat and danceable “The Fallen”, while our British counterparts get the morose goodbye ballad, “Walk Away”. Head Ferdinand (or as Pitchfork once dubbed him, “the franziest of the ferdinands”) Alex Kapranos explained the decision to NME saying, “in the States they’re more up for a bit of rock and roll”. Not sure whether or not he’s calling us out as being the less sophisticated of the two international powers, but just to be safe we should probably declare war on his homeland. Anyways, the first of the two songs to get the music video treatment is “Walk Away”, and, with director Scott Lyon, the band created a beautiful clip that harkens back to Hitchcock’s glory days and the height of film noir. Definitely one of the better videos of the year, and you can download it in beautiful high-resolution, along with Franz’s two new singles, below.

yes, tis a marvellous clip!
I was inspired to bust out my red sweater vest!
Theres a 30 second clip of the Walk Away b-side, a cover of Air’s Sexy Boy, up at Franzferdinand.org.
I think its pretty horrendous just from that.
But back to the topic at hand…Walk Away is the awesome.
