Welcome Back
We missed you, we really did. Now, everything isn’t quite up and running as smoothly as I would have liked - there are some lingering formatting issues and I still haven’t completed the process of re-uploading all the mp3s from our terminated ezarchive account, but at least we’re back in business. Everett and I have both been writing and seeking out new bands during the hiatus and we’ve got a veritable shit ton of hot new bands to expose you to, and needless to say we’re psyched to be back in action.
I’m going to keep this relatively concise as I’ll be recounting the incredible events of my last month (concerts, etc.) in upcoming posts for you, but there is one song I absolutely have to drop for you today. Seriously, this is the summer anthem of 2006 right here, brought to you by the hottest new dancetronica on the block, Justice. I’ll be writing up a full artist profile on Justice in the immediate future, but for now I’ll just fill you in on the basics. Justice are an electronic dance music duo from France that are being hailed by many as the next Daft Punk, and rightfully so. Basically, if one were to take Daft Punk’s hottest dancefloor anthems and drench them in a layer of grime and sex, you’d get Justice. The duo’s remix of Simian’s “We Are Your Friends” (which they re-titled “Never Be Alone”) is a flawless example of this sound. Seriously, it’s so good, and there’s honestly nothing more fun than a club full of drunk hipsters screaming out “We! Are! Your friends!” in sweaty, ass-shakin’ unison.
MP3: “Never Be Alone” - Justice vs. Simian ((highly recommended))
