Guillemots To Re-release “Trains To Brazil”

Yeah, remember that song I like? “Trains To Brazil”? Well it’s still amazing, and fortunately for me (and you and everyone else), Guillemots will be re-releasing it as their next single. The single will see it’s release on September 11th, an appropriate date considering the song’s terrorism-themed subject matter. I for one am super excited about this release, as a) we all know it’s my favorite song of the year and b) new b-sides! Granted, their b-sides tend to be all-over-the-place experimental jam sessions, but new Guillemots material is new Guillemots material, thus I am still pumped.

ELSEWHERE: Pitchfork got their shit own’d! By carelessly/accidentally leaving their hosting directory unprotected, the mighty P-Fork is responsible for the leak of Joanna Newsom’s new release, Ys, three months prior to its release date. Here’s the somewhat scathing thread that started it all. The directory also contained the new album from The Blow (who are touring with Architecture In Helsinki this fall and are likely on the verge of becoming the new P-Fork endorsed next big things), Paper Television, which drops October 24th. Below is the album’s first track, “Pile Of Gold”, which is great and plays out kind of like an indie-rock “My Humps”, with the whole “spendin’ all your money on me” theme.
