So I Started A Record Label.

Things have been quiet as fuck around here recently. You could even say this blog is dying and you’d be pretty accurate. And it’s because, yeah, I started a record label. Along with this girl Lizzy some of you may have heard of, I’ve launched a 7″ vinyl singles label in New York City. I’m aware it’s a move that’s equal parts bold and naive (and some might say, retarded) given the lack of commercial success vinyl has had over like, the last fifteen years in this country, but whatever, this is happening. It’s called Neon Gold Records and we’re about to fuck all kinds of shit up.
Our first release will be dropping in September, and it’s a double A-side single from a little band called Passion Pit that’s about to become the best thing to happen to pop music in a long-ass time. “Sleepyhead” and “Better Things” are the tracks, and they’re two of the best songs you’ve heard in forever so GET ON THIS SHIT. Limited to 1,000 copies worldwide these will go fast, and when Passion Pit are the hottest shit ever in six months time, you’re gonna wish you’d copped one of these bad boys. And you better believe I’ll be there to say I told you so if you sleep on this. I’ll get a pre-order link up on here when we’ve got one.
Sadly, this means that Good Weather For Airstrikes will have to be abandoned in the very near future. But like, in a loving way, all wrapped up in a blanket and placed on some kind family’s doorstep or some shit. Worry not though, as the Neon Gold website will feature it’s own blog, and while all content will actually be legal this time with permission granted by its rightful owners, updates will likely be more regular, more concise and more awesome. So yeah, no big change really. Just a better looking blog with hotter jams, more activity and less long-windedness. Are we excited yet?
More info forthcoming. Oh, and if you missed “Sleepyhead” the first time around, do yourself a favor and grace your ears with the best song of the year.
